It’s time!
Today I’m taking 25 girls to a concert & then we are having a giant sleepover at the church! I think I’m just as excited as they are!!!
It’s taken a lot of planning & preparation! Yesterday I was at the church for 7 hrs with my wonderful friend Theresa setting everything up! (Thanks Tree!! And thanks Sara for offering a mountain of moral support)
We have tents, lights, tulle, tissue-paper puffs, …
So many fun things! And I love how it turned out!!
But before all that staying awake all night sleeping, we are going here…
We are going to see Mandisa---score!
And the one my girlies are all excited about…Britt Nicole!!!
Of course our group name is GLOW. Our theme song is Glow by Britt Nicole, so you can imagine their enthusiasm when we realized she was going to be in concert less than an hour away!
So if I’m a bit absent over the next few days, it’s because I am hibernating!
And thanking God for such an amazing group of girls & friends & helpers.
And thanking God for such an amazing group of girls & friends & helpers.
Pray for these sweet girls. That their hearts would be open and receptive to the special message that they are about to hear from some very godly role models!
………………………………………..
And make sure you head over to Ashley’s blog & check out her new project!
I’m so excited to purchase some cards & get this started over here on the east coast!!
(I’m sure my GLOW girls will love this) Thanks Ashley for being such an inspiration!

Simply do.

I think we just need a reminder of this sometimes. It’s so easy to get consumed by something to the point of expecting recognition.
What happened to a society that just simply wanted to DO for others?
What happened to people who just want to HELP others?
What happened to just simply LOVING someone enough to serve them?
Perhaps we all need to stop & question our motives…our intentions.
It’s good to hear a “great job” or “well done” every once in awhile, but those words shouldn’t be the reason we do things.
So question:
If nobody were to ever tell you “nice work” or “thank you” again, would you still be as committed to serving? To running a ministry? To offering help & love?

Ladies Night Out
Every month my church holds a Ladies Night Out! A different theme is picked for each one. We’ve had card-making, blanket making, apple pie making, movie watching, cookie exchanging. And this month the theme was tea partying!!
Of course my friends & I instantly thought fancy dresses & over-the-top hats! It’s what any natural 20-something would think when they hear tea party, right? We were originally thinking prom dresses, but none of us were 100% positive we could still fit into those, so we didn’t want to risk that mortifying experience.
Instead we just went with some cocktail dresses. But you better believe we still went for outrageous hats!
We picked up some gardening hats at JoAnn’s, along with flowers, feathers, and for me…a bird! Then we had some fun putting them together over chocolate covered fruit!
Then we picked out our dresses & went with smiles to the tea party!
Each table host decorated their table any way they wanted too! We were at my pastors wife's table & her china was seriously so beautiful. I’m totally honest when I say I never really understood the whole “You must register for fancy china for your wedding so it can sit in a cabinet and collect dust” hype. But it was so fun to see the different styles of ladies china. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll someday have china to display in a cabinet.
Here was our table…
And here were the other tables…
Of course we had to vote on our favorite table, and here was the winner. (which I forgot to snap a picture of the entire table put together)…
It was fun. And the food was great.
Except for these…
They were definitely delicious, but I felt like a piggy because I ended up eating about 6 of these “tea” sandwiches. But if they would have given me the whole sandwich, I would have eaten 1 and felt much better about myself! Us girls were left asking where the crust leftovers were…
These were the fab ladies at my table!
Tree/Rene/Sara/Kristan
My best friends.
