How Are Your Roots?

My pastor has been preaching on the book of Colossians and this week he spoke a lot about this verse...

"Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better." Colossians 1:10

He compared us to a plant.

If a plant's roots are doing their job and seeking nutrients, they will produce healthy fruit. But if they dig into "rotten or tainted" land, the fruit will die and wither.

We are like plants. Our roots need to be constantly seeking the Lord and be in his word to find the will for our lives. That is the only way that we will bare healthy fruit.

Our fruit reveals our roots.
So if we don't have a giving heart, and we aren't tithing, and we aren't escaping our strongholds, it's going to show. It will be like a veil is lifted because people will see just how far away we are from our relationship with the Lord.

We need to be placing our roots in healthy soil.
Are you?

I love this! :) Our Pastor this week touched on being the fruit on the tree. You can say you're a Christian all you want, but if you're fruit is not visible ... no one will ever know.

Great post and awesome verse! It is something that I am trying to be more intentional about...but I often fail! It's a strength I am asking God for!

So important to put ourselves in good places where it is easier for us to grow stronger and make sure we can lift others along the way! Thanks for the uplifting posts and reminder to be our best :)
