Someone’s almost 30!

DSC_0021 edited

Today my main guy turns 29! And because it’s like the south pole here in NY, or more like colder than the south pole, he took the day off. A cold day if you will. Call it what you like, Emma & I are enjoying the extra lazy time with daddy. However, I definitely failed on the making a cake or a card or buying a present for him. OOOPS. Not even sure what I’ll cook for dinner since it’s too cold to go the the store! Guess he’ll have to settle for some baby giggles & hilarious jokes about almost being 30 from his wife! Because really, what better gift could he have? Mama’s got jokes. hah.

Our child has an obsession with lights. A bit unhealthy, but so cute if you ask me. Except for when her obsession causes her to go into a fit of rage until we take her to the kitchen & let her stare at the ceiling light. Also can we talk about the beard? I’m a fan. It actually got thicker after this picture but then my almost 30 yr old, trimmed it up & I might have shed a tear over it. What can I say, I like the beard.

Now, let me get sappy for a second…

Watching this guy become a daddy has been one of the best parts of welcoming Emma into our family. He is so gentle with her. And is basically the one that she wants when she’s fussy or wants some cuddling. I joke with him about the super rare occasions when I can tell he’s getting frustrated because she won’t eat or can’t be soothed (hello teeth & an amber necklace that doesn’t seem to be working!) because his grumpy face only lasts for about a second & then it’s like she melts in his arms & all is right in the world again. His love for her oozes out of him & it makes me think about the love our Father has for us. Emma really can’t do a whole lot wrong in her daddy’s eyes, his love is unconditional for her. How much more God loves us, our girl than we ever could. What a picture of joy these two show me! And the grace. Oh the grace. And the patience. I’m not really the best housewife, yet. I don’t have the whole accomplish everything & have dinner on the table & a clean house when the husband gets home under control. Most days he comes home to a wife still in her sweatpants, a messy kitchen, laundry all over, & at times a bit of a cranky “mama needs a break” attitude. But yet, he loves me. And says you’re doing a great job. And takes E so I can at least go wash my face & brush my teeth. He has such a calm & easy going attitude, which totally balances my hyper & life’s crazy attitude.

He is my perfect match.

Fridays Letters

IMG_4115
Dear Hubby, You are rocking this upcoming daddy role! E is such a lucky little lady to have you! I’m excited for you to paint her nursery & make it special for her! I love how much you love her already! Dear Weather, You have been so nice lately & then my weather app says possible snow showers on Monday….what in the world? It’s May in case you got confused. Dear Home, I can’t believe we have already lived in you for 2 weeks! The past year and a half is already feeling like a blimp in time. Slowly you are becoming “ours”…and Emma’s too since she’s got A LOT of stuff already! Dear Bump, You are feeling heavier & larger by the day. You are also causing some pretty sexy cankles & swollen feet. And by sexy I mean hideous. Dear God, I am amazed at your faithfulness. Your timing is so much sweeter than ours. And your plans for our lives will never compare to our measly momentary wants. The Lord truly does give us the desires of our hearts & in 4 weeks I will officially become a stay at home mama. I can’t even type that without tears forming. The journey He has taken us on has been emotional and trying, but in the end He had it all worked out. M’s calling it my retirement & I’m ok with that :)

Last Easter…

IMG_3968 edited
This Easter.

Besides totally different hair colors, I think I’m noticing something much different! Due to a new dress fail, I had to find something in my closet to wear for Easter this year. And it just so happened that one of the only dresses that fit, was the one I wore last year. It’s funny to see how completely opposite that dress looks in a years time!

This Easter.

My hubby’s still the most handsome man I know. And I’m looking more plump. But still ghostly white.

And now because those of you who know us in real life, know how much M hates pictures, let me provide you with some progression shots…

I love this man! Can’t believe that in one years time we have changed & grown so much. We are having a baby & that doesn’t even seem real! God is so good. He truly does give us the desires of our hearts & they most certainly are on His schedule, not ours. Such a blessed life I have. May I never take my best friend or our sweet baby girl for granted.

Friday’s Letters

IMG_3957

{15 weeks, 21 weeks, 27 weeks}

Dear Body, You just continue to “amaze” me with your growth. Everyone keeps telling me I’m all belly & if that’s what they see when they look at me, I’ll take it. I , on the other hand, see a whole lot more than just belly. But isn’t that the way it goes? I’m just happy that E is growing healthy in there! Dear Husband, I love you. I am so proud of you & I don’t think I tell you that often enough. I am blessed by how hard your working at getting us on our own again & I know that God is going to bless your faithfulness. Dear God, I will trust YOU. I will trust YOU. I will trust YOU. I am repeating that to myself hourly, sometimes even every minute. Sometimes the valleys just seem so deep & it’s all I can do to let go. BUT I know you are the author & I am a daughter of the king who simply needs to be patient with your timeline.  Dear Sunshine, FINALLY! It’s about time you showed your face around these parts again. I was beginning to wonder if you had disappeared forever. Now if you could radiate about 70 degree heat, I wouldn’t be mad about it. Dear E, You have had the hiccups all morning. And when you aren’t hiccupping your giving me some hefty jabs! I love them all, really I do, but could you try avoiding my bladder? Feeling about to tinkle my pants when you kick me there just isn’t much fun! Dear Family, You’ve been in Florida all year..ok so just for this week but the need to tell me its 85 and sunny there isn’t really necessary is it? I mean I’m glad for you, but it doesn’t help that we are just now seeing the sun & you’ve been gone since last Wednesday. Hopefully you bring back real sunshine and warmth instead of just a can that pretends to hold it. Dear Friends, If you didn’t have a chance to worship and hear truth this past Easter, go here. My pastor is more than willing to share with you the powerful good news that God sent His Son for You.

Happy weekend lovelies.

Friday’s Letters

IMG_3930

Dear Husband, My heart is overflowing with joy when I see how much you love our E already! When you talk to her & smooch her (my belly) & pray for her…seriously my heart feels like it could burst. I always teased you and said you had a heart of ice, but becoming a daddy is definitely making that joke untrue. Dear Emma, I can’t believe we are only 13 weeks away from meeting you! The kicks and pokes you give me are so reassuring, even if they have been coming in the middle of the night. We’ll have to work on those sleep habits! Dear Spring, you are looking much different than I remember you. Last year we were enjoying 70 degree weather & this year I’m looking at snow out my window. What gives? Have we done something to offend you? You must come soon because all of my winter clothes are just getting way to short! Dear Head, I’d love for you to reattach yourself to my body now. The runny nose, achy eyes, scratchy throat, and overall feeling of disconnect is just about more than I can handle. I think you are rebelling against snow in spring. Dear Class, you were all too sweet when you found out baby girl was going to be Emma. Playtime just got a lot more confusing since you all have baby dolls mysteriously named Emma now! Dear Husband, Thank you for being such a hard worker! I know we are in a weird place right now, but seeing you seek after God and His plan for us, puts my weary heart to rest just a little bit.

Friday's Letters

IMG_2711

Dear Self, you really have a warped idea of “big” don’t you? You seriously thought you were huge at 15 weeks? Pshh, girl. You were tiny. Take a look at yourself when you were 21 weeks! You see that? It’s a belly. And it’s here to stay. It means baby girls is growing! Dear Husband, you are amazing. That is all really. When you smooch my belly and tell our little bit how much you love her, I have to fight back tears! I’m a little nervous about these “air jordan booties” you are pushing me to get, but I’ll probably relent & give in because you’re just so stinkin in love with our little that I can’t tell you no. Dear Butt, I won’t be upset if you stop aching. Really. I promise, there will be no hard feelings. Dear Little Sisters, sorry little miss didn’t feel like sharing her moves with you. I think she likes playing tricks when people try feeling her. I promise she was doing flips right up until you put your hands on my belly. Dear Peanut Butter Fudge, OH MY GARSH. I should have gotten more than a 1/4 pound of you. I think I’ll cry when I finish the last piece. Dear Maternity Leggings,  I love you. The end. Dear Work Chair, you hurt. Please see “dear butt”. Dear GLOW/Pearls, I can't wait to watch Annie tonight & have lots of good treats at our Pink Party! You girls bring serious joy to my life! Dear Baby Girl, mama is so excited to meet you! Only 17 weeks left!! Time is flying by & before I know it, I’ll be holding you in my arms & stealing kisses every chance I get!

Happy Friday friends!

Baby’s First Picture & Mr’s Birthday

IMG_3368 edited

…last Wednesday was one of the most amazing days of my life.

We  FINALLY got to hear our babies heartbeat & see little bug! There are seriously no words to even describe how amazing it was. Our little love was waving to us. As if to say, “it’s about time you saw me!”
Because of different reasons, I wasn’t able to actually see my midwife until I was 15 weeks along. 15 weeks is an extremely long time to wait for that confirmation. I can’t lie and say that I wasn’t consumed with fear sometimes. It was definitely there and overwhelming. As much as I’d like to say I trusted that everything was fine, it was hard to let it go. There has been so much prayer over this baby, not just by Mike and I but by our friends and family. God was certainly faithful with an excellent appointment and a very active baby. Nerves were calmed when I got to watch little bug doing flips and waving hi!

Something about seeing your precious baby for the first time to finally make it feel real. There are 3 of us now.

What better way to celebrate this handsome guys birthday than with the confirmation that our little peanut is growing healthy and strong?! I’m so excited for what this year holds for this guy!! He is going to be such an amazing daddy! Is it possible to be more excited to see him become a dad than myself become a mama? Is that what love is? If it is then by golly, I am head over heels for him. This is the year that he will meet his first born. The year that he will hold and rock the best gift ever. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you Mr. You are such a pure man of God & it’s an amazing honor to do life with you! Am I getting mushy enough for you all? I just can’t help it! The growth I’ve seen take place since this guy’s birthday last year is incredible & I want to shout it from the rooftops just how special he is!!!

I mean how can I not love a man who let’s this sweet angels bow eat his face?

Happy Birthday love.
You, hands-down, make my life a million times better.

Dear Friday.

Dear Friday, Thanks for showing up! I wasn’t really anxious for you, but who can deny the excitement of what Friday means! Dear Hubby, you texted me from across the room & you used a hashtag. Yea. You’re cool like that. Dear Life, you are rocking my world this week. Seriously. Prayers are answered and God is quickly showing me exactly where I’m meant to be. It’s amazing. Dear Water with Cucumber, I love you. The headaches I get from trading out my iced coffees for you, not so much. Ahh the life of a coffee addict.

Dear Summer, you are flying by! Slow down puh-lease. We are already in August & it may be breaking my heart a little. Dear Friends having/with babies (1, 2, 34, , etc.), you are all fueling my baby mama fever! Following you on facebook & instagram might be the wrong thing to do, but I just can’t stop. Luckily,  number 1 lets me love on her little itty-bitty anytime I want to! Dear Hubby, thanks for the new hat. You know me so stinkin well.

Outtakes

Like any planned event, things are bound to go wrong & end up being hilarious. Sit back and enjoy some candid shots of our wedding, or planned event.

{Getting soaking wet is completely acceptable at an outdoor ceremony. Especially for the step-father of the bride.}
Mike and Liz Bush Edwards 131

{Picking your nose during the big/little sister portrait is also highly acceptable}
Mike and Liz Bush Edwards 104

{mother of the bride & mother of the groom wearing the exact same dress in different colors doesn’t get more acceptable}
Mike and Liz Bush Edwards 113

{your little sister attempting to tickle you during pictures, totally acceptable}
Mike and Liz Bush Edwards 232

{letting your sister lick the frosting off your faces after you’ve smashed it yourself, acceptable right?}
Mike and Liz Bush Edwards 274

{ok this one might not be acceptable.}
Mike and Liz Bush Edwards 337

{discovering that the hubby makes the same dance face as the little sis, definitely accepting this}
Mike and Liz Bush Edwards 437

{making your grandma bust some moves, oh yes. she loved it. acceptable}
Mike and Liz Bush Edwards 501

{leading the train in hot pink flip-flops instead of heels. not-acceptable isn’t an option for this one.}
Mike and Liz Bush Edwards 519

{um. pulling on your brand new hubby’s tie. I say acceptable considering the circumstances.}
Mike and Liz Bush Edwards 509

See all completely acceptable right? Well accept the one dancing scene. That one was questionable. But we’ll let it slide since my dad was distraught about losing his baby & clearly that was a coping mechanism.
